Kitchen and Feeding Center kits

General information

A "Kitchen" kit enables general feeding for 1000 people (includes beneficiary identification, installation, cooking, feeding and monitoring).

A "Feeding 500 children" kit enables specialized feeding for 500 children in feeding centres (including beneficiary identification, installation, cooking, feeding, monitoring and survey).

Neither kit includes a stove or fuel. These items must be acquired locally or ordered separately.  Available fuels should guide the choice of an appropriate cooking stove (refer to codes HSHEHEAT…).

Neither kits include shelter, lighting, water or storage.

All cooking items are in aluminium or stainless steel of equivalent quality.

• The specifications below provide the minimum standard quality for each item.

• Stackable cooking pots of varying sizes minimize packing volume.

• Plastic cups must be graduated in order to measure the quantity of food administrated to patients.

Logo-identified items should be adapted to the National Society, the International Federation or the ICRC.

The "Feeding 500 children" kit includes 2 Oxfam kits, and other items adapted to the needs of Red Cross and Red Crescent activities.

Material specifications:

Aluminium pots and frying pans

• Aluminium type Al99.0 or above as per ISO 209-1 standard (minimum 99% Aluminium).

• Other elements as per EN 602 standard.

Stainless steel pots and frying pans

• Stainless steel must be of ISO type 1.4016 (American grade 430) or higher quality ISO type 1.4301 (American grade 304)

• Higher-quality steel, such as ISO types 1.4401 or 1.4404, are not required (American grade 316).

• Applicable standard included in EN 10088-1.
