Forklift

General information

For transport of a loaded pallet inside or outside of a warehouse, to load trucks, etc., and to move 20″ and 40″ freight containers.

• Outdoor models have wheels that can operate on soft terrain, and should be equipped with 4x4 drive.

• Indoor models are not to be used outside, to prevent the wheels from wearing out quickly; they also get stuck in soft terrain.

• Diesel forklifts should not be used indoors, due to the toxicity of the exhaust fumes.  Indoor forklifts should be gas or electrically powered.

Important factors to consider in selecting an appropriate model:

• Maximum height of use (the highest place you want to place pallets).

• Minimum height of the doors through which it will operate (the height of the lowest door in your warehouse).

Requires special driving licence or, at a minimum, special training.

Check the availability of local maintenance services prior to purchasing. Try to standardize the fleet.
