Second hand clothes, for distribution. To supply people with sufficient clothing. Exact type of clothing to be specified according to the different categories here below.
The item codes are generic. The exact clothing type must be clearly indicated on the request.
Quality categories used by major suppliers:
- A = very good, nearly new and modern textiles.
- B = good and wearable clothing.
- C = not sorted, not used as clothing.
Categories of thermal resistance: tropical or warm.
Categories of persons: men, women, boys, girls and small children.
Categories of clothing: shirts, blouses, skirts, underwear, trousers, jackets, coats, sweaters, T-shirts, small children rompers, others (250 in total).
Categories of garment: cotton, wool, silk, synthetics, others.
Packing:
- Specified categories are pressed wrapped and strapped in 45 kg bales.
- Bales should not be bigger than 765mm x 465mm x300mm.
Example: a bale of 45 kg contains approx.:
Transport:
- TC20’ DC container takes 12.5 MT = 277 bales of 45 kg.
- TC40’ DC ......................... 26.5 MT = 589 bales of 45 kg.
- TC40’ HC ..........................30 MT = 546 bales of 55 kg.
- TC40’ HC.......................... 28.6 MT = 635 bales of 45 kg.
Price:
- Second hand clothes are either a donation in kind or are purchased by headquarters.
- The value of donated second hand clothes may vary according to the donor.
