Specifications for food items vary with national regulations. Importation of food is always subject to acceptance from the national authorities, based on their specifications.
The specifications must be adapted to every context.

For all aspects of the food products, unless described otherwise here below, the standard of Codex Alimentarius last edition applies, including packaging, in particular Codex STAN73.
Product must be fit for human consumption and be of sound, fair and marketable quality.
The Cartagena Protocol (Biosafety Protocol, additional to the Convention of Biodiversity) requires that exporters/producers indicate whether food items may contain GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) or not.
Baby food may be prepared from any suitable nutritive material that is used, recognised or commonly sold as an article or ingredient of food, including spices.
All aspects of the products such as composition, consistency, particle size, purity, prohibited components or prohibited features, additives, contaminants, hygiene, packaging, fill of container, labelling, analysis and sampling to be in accordance with Codex STAN 73.

Expiry date of 2 years minimum at date of delivery.
In export carton boxes of double corrugation of 10kg net.
Cartons to resist without any damage 6m high stacking for 6 months without deterioration, and a minimum of 10 manual handlings.
The sealing of the outer box is with glue or 50mm tape or strapping, capable of resisting a tropical climate (humidity and sunshine) for six months. Tape overlaps of 10cm minimum.
