Super Cereal Plus is used by humanitarian agencies, Ministry of health, governmental and non-governmental organizations for treatment and prevention of moderate acute malnutrition. The product is intended for children 6-24months of age. Super Cereal Plus is a complementary food to breastmilk and is not a breast milk substitute. The product may be used in harsh climatic conditions.
Super Cereal Plus contains maize (58%), de-hulled soya beans (20%), dried skimmed Milk Powder (8%), Sugar (10%), vegetable oil and vitamins and minerals premix. Super Cereal Plus provides 410 kcal/100g of dry product.
Super Cereal Plus is packed in a 1.5 kg airtight bag and has a shelf life of 18 months from the dates of manufacture when stored dry at ambient temperatures prevalent in the country of destination.
Super Cereal Plus is consumed like gruel or porridge by mixing an appropriate proportion of flour and clean water (i.e. 50g of Super Cereal Plus with 250g of water) followed by a cooking time at simmering point from 5 to 10 minutes. Caution: Reconstituted Super Cereal Plus need to be consumed immediately.
Super Cereal Plus must be stored under dry, ventilated and hygienic conditions. It is recommended to store the product at a relative humidity below 60% and temperature below 38 degrees Celsius.
