General information

An elastic bandage is designed to produce contention or compression used to improve oedema re-absorption and to prevent post-operative thrombosis. This type of bandage can cause severe tissue damage if applied incorrectly.

A compression bandage should not be applied to patients who have marked ischemia or an impaired arterial blood supply.

Suitable for tibia stump (size 10cm) and for femoral stump (12-15cm).



Woven fabric 83% cotton; 14% polyamide, 3% polyurethane


High extensible – medium stretch compression bandages, with durable elasticity, have a high recoiling force and are thought to increase expelled blood volume and reduce venous hypertension.


They apply a sustained level of compression over time


The weft threads of the bandage are made of cotton and the warp threads of false-twisted polyamide and polyurethane that together impart a high degree of elasticity
