Description:
Valve: The Heimlich Chest Drain Valve is a specially-designed flutter valve used to replace underwater bottles seal in chest drainage, ideal during patient transport.
The valve, which is constructed of rubber tubing, is compressed at one end to form leaflets that control a unidirectional flow.
Chamber: Single and transparent, including connectors indicating the direction of flow.
Proximal connector, blue colour for lung side.
Distal connector, white colour for collector side.
Both connectors increase in diameter towards the chamber, permitting safe connection for the chest tube and to secure the distal end connected to the plastic bag.
