General information
The Norwegian Red Cross Basic Health Care Unit comprises of the standard ERU BHC modules described in the BHC information page, it can also be configured for mobility and outreach. The unit can also offer Psycho-social support components. The following optional additional modules can also be deployed.

- Rehydration/Nutrition module
The equipment includes the following:
- infusion
- hydration orally by stomach tube
- weighing scales
- food demonstration and feeding (combined with the kitchen module)
The equipment includes the following:
- Maintenance of the cold chain
- Disposable syringes and needles for the vaccination of 3000 children
- Vaccines covering full vaccination program for 3000 children
The equipment includes the following:
- Malaria and puss smears
- Urine and stool examinations
- Simple blood tests (haemoglobin, SR)
- HIV- and hepatitis B tests
As part of the epidemic control functions, an isolation ward can be set up if indicated.
If indicated, the BHC can be expanded with surgical module (and Nursing Module as Ward Space) sufficient medical equipment to establish an operating theatre with two operating tables. Each Nursing Module has complete supplies for 50 bed ward.
