ERU basic health care unit complete, German Red Cross

General information

The German Red Cross Basic Health Care Unit comprises of the standard ERU BHC modules described in the standard BHC information page, and the following additional modules.

The unit can easily be configured for mobility and/or outreach services.

Additional specific GRC modules available:

• Laboratory module:

Field laboratory in which the most important tests in the fields of haematology, biochemistry and microbiology can be performed.

• Isolation ward module:

To be able to react to the occurrence of patients with suspected highly contagious diseases. Consists of personal protective equipment and material to set up a temporary isolation unit.

• Surgical module:

Complete OT comprising of surgical, anaesthesia and sterilisation equipment

• Nutrition module:

Equipment for a therapeutic feeding centre to treat malnourished patients

• Vaccination module:

Equipment for the implementation of immunisation programmes incl. outreach activities

• Psycho-social support component:

Equipment for the implementation of psycho-social support component incl. outreach activities
