MEASURING BOARD, for Babys, 1-100cmCHF 560,008kg0.15m³

General information

Height must be established in order to measure statural growth and corpulence.

Required in clinics and hospitals, and to conduct nutritional surveys.

Portable infant or child measuring boards that measure height and length can be used to measure either the recumbent length of infants or the standing height of preschool-age children.

Children under 2 years of age are placed horizontally on their backs, barefoot, on an accurately graduated height board, whose 0-value extremity is fitted with a fixed perpendicular headboard. The child's head is held firmly against the headboard, the buttocks must rest fully on the table, and the legs extended by pressing on the knees. The measurement cursor lies perpendicular to the table; it is slid against the child's heels while keeping his or her feet at right angles to the legs. The cursor is held securely in place while the child is removed; the child's height (or length) is recorded to the nearest millimetre (e.g., 65.2cm).

Children above 2 years of age are measured standing, barefoot and as erect as possible, against a vertical height board or tape measure fastened to a flat surface. The back of the head, shoulder blades, buttocks and heels must connect with the board, and the legs must be fully extended. The head must be straight, the shoulders relaxed and the arms must hang naturally. A set square is lowered firmly onto the crown of the head (particular care must be taken in measuring child with thick hair); the height is recorded to the nearest millimetre (e.g., 85.6cm).

Size, assembled:

Hardwood, with a water-resistant finish, all parts must be glued and screwed down.

Comprised of:

1- Main board.

2- Extension piece: collapsible, starts at 75cm to 130cm.

3- Sliding piece to measure head or foot.

4- Shoulder strap: adjustable for carrying.

Easily assembled and dismantled.

The board folds up compactly: the sliding head or foot piece located at the base of the board collapses; it is screwed on to the main board.

Other requirements:

Multilingual instruction for use: English, French and Spanish.

NOTE:  It can also be manufactured, either as a foldable unit or in 1 piece, by a local carpenter.
