General information

Polyethylene pipes appropriate for both suction and delivery.

Can be assembled using compression coupling up to 125mm or fusion welding.

Compared to other plastics, polyethylene has a good resistance to acids and caustic substances. It is also resistant to organic and inorganic solvents at a wide range of temperatures. It is, however, not resistant to strong oxidizing acids.

PE100 is preferred to PE80 due to its better strength and durability, higher operating pressures, lower sensitivity to surface damage during laying, and improved resistance to rapid crack growth.

Dimensions:

  • Pipes are generally available in 3, 5 or 6m straight lengths and 25 or 50m rolls.
  • When ordering pipes quote both the desired interior and exterior diameters; this will have an influence on the fittings.
  • Outside diameter (OD) is also called Diameter Nominal (DN) or Nominal Diameter (ND) and is given in millimetres.
  • Designating the outside diameter ensures pipes of the same size will fit together, regardless of wall thicknesses.
  • Internal diameter ID. The outside diameter is fixed for a given pipe size, however, the inside diameter will vary depending on the thickness of the pipe’s wall .
  • Ensure the supplier can match the fittings to the pipes.
