Specifications

A urine bag or collector is a medical device that is connected to an indwelling catheter.

It is a drainage system comprised of tubing, connectors, an emptying system and mechanical supports; it also includes a means to prevent urine backflow.

Materials:

Collectors: polyvinyl chloride (PVC). polypropylene or ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA).

Tubing: medical grade polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Specifications:

Urine bag has a capacity of 2 litres and is graduated every 100ml

Inlet tube:

Fitted with a connector and protective cap.

Inlet tube has a protective cap, is non-kinking, has a length of +/-90cm and is fitted with a multi-sized connector.

Bag or collector:

Fitted with a non-return valve.

The non-return valve is located inside the urine collector bag at the upper part or urine entry point, and prevents urine backflow into the indwelling urinary catheter.

Non-return valve plus drainage valve allows maintenance of sterility inside the reservoir bag.

Urine bag has two (2) strong eyelets from which to suspend the bag.

Outlet tube:

Fitted with a drain valve.

An outlet tube with a drain valve permits the bag to be emptied while limiting unnecessary handlings; thus, reducing infection risks. It is also more economical.

Unit presentation:

MCTDBAGU2L: 1 urine bag, single use, single packed in a peel or tear pouch

MCTDBAGU2LN: 1 urine bag, single-use, not sterile packed.

Packaging:

Packaging unit: carton of 60, 100, or 200 pieces.

Each carton to be clearly marked with the name and characteristics of the article and the number of units per carton.

Other:

NOTE: Since 2011 the urine bags, packed in bulk, are less and less frequently sterilized through Ethylene oxide; the trend is to sell them hygienically clean, unsterile.

The urine bag, sterile single packed, is to be used for indwelling urine catheter.
