General information

The advanced screen-film system, "the green system", uses green-emitting screens and green-sensitive (orthochromatic) film.  The green system has twice the speed of a "blue system"; it has an upper kV-range, provides better image resolution and has a shorter exposure time for the patient.

Never mix the cassettes or films from blue and green systems.

An envelope is provided for storing developed X-ray films.

X-RAY FILM, GREEN SENSITIVE

A medical X-ray film has photographic emulsion on both sides; when placed between two fluorescent screens inside a lightproof cassette, the X-rays pass through the patient and the cassette. The screens give off light, which exposes the film’s emulsions recording an image.
